Cleaning your laser cutter machine

Posted on December 28, 2021 at 2:42 pm

Investing in a laser cutting machine can be a great investment for your company, however for it to perform at its best, it must be well maintained and cleaned. A laser cutting machine is made up of many different parts, all of which must be cleaned and maintained to keep it in great working order.

To produce good quality work and produce cuts that cut cleanly and accurately through the material you use, the machine has to be kept in perfect working order. If there is a build up of dust on mirrors of the machine then they will not reflect properly and cut incorrectly or bounce back, producing a poor quality cut. This can lead to burned out tubes whereupon your tube replacements become more expensive than expected, plus replacement parts such as mirrors too. All these factors add up more quickly than people may think.

By spending allocated time to clean and maintain your desktop laser cutter machine will help to save you money in the long term, saving you from buying new parts due to dust and poor production of products, making the machine not work with good airflow and become overheated.

If you do not clean the machine regularly, it will start accumulating dust on the exterior of the machine more quickly than you would imagine. This happens because the material being cut emits fine dust particles which get dragged into your system along with airborne particles.

Having a good air filter system within workplace will reduce the amount of dust and reduce the amount landing on the machines, but it can only do so much. The buildup of dust around the exterior of the machine will inevitably cause problems, if you do not clean these parts after each cut.

If the machine is too dirty, airflow may be obstructed and this restrains the fan’s ability to cool your system properly which could lead to overheating in extreme cases with prolonged use- which can result in having to turn the machine off for long periods of time (meaning production supply will be stopped during that time too).

When it comes to cleaning the laser cutting machine, it is vital that you turn off laser cutter power supply, unplug or turn off any equipment feeding electricity into your laser cutter and remove the water fume extractor’s air hose from the laser cutter before attempting any cleaning. Ensure that you wear an appropriate face mask and goggles to protect yourself from dust and debris. Clean each section of the machine, paying particular attention to the mirrors and tubings. Whilst completing the cleaning of the machine, this is a great opportunity to inspect all parts of the machine and check each part for damage or faults and replace as needed.

By spending allocated time to clean your laser cutting machine, you will save yourself time and money in the long term, and reduce machine downtime due to overheating of faulty parts. The most important part of regular cleaning to your machine is that it will help overall product production.

Why You Should Support Small Engraving Businesses

Posted on October 18, 2021 at 10:26 am

Small local businesses in the engraving and personalisation industry are struggling to create a living as people are choosing not to work with them due to a small collection of people in the industry giving them a bad name with bad work. But, today we are going to share with you why you should be choosing to support small engraving businesses.

One of the best reasons why you should always choose to support a small business is simply because an actual person will do a little happy dance when you order. You are supporting a single person rather than a big enterprise. You will be helping a family to make a living rather than just putting more money into one person’s business.

Think of it this way, would you rather help a single person to create a living and a dream Christmas for their family, or would you prefer to put more money into a millionaires pocket. I know what I would prefer and what we believe you should do.

So, whilst their costs may be slightly more, it will be worth it. You will be given a more personalised experience when working with a small business. You will be in contact with the owner and who is making your product. Most small business owners will accommodate your needs, offering you more options for personalisation.

We will always believe that we should help each other. That we should support each other. So, if you see a friend, someone you know, or a small business on Facebook offering the gift you want to give this year, please support them. Let someone do a little happy dance. Let you have a better experience than being with a large enterprise.

Ease Your Pain By Working With A Manufacturer

Posted on September 13, 2021 at 2:04 pm

There are so many things that manufacturers are good for, one of them is easing your pain. Not all manufacturers are good at this and can cause you more problems, but there are a few companies around that are great at assisting you.

When you want to work with a manufacturer, you want to find one that will be able to help you in the best way possible. You want to work with someone who will be able to assist you and ease your pain. There are many ways that they can do this and this is what you should be looking out for.

Firstly, you want to notice how reliable they are. Find a manufacturer that is able to answer your questions and able to respond to your queries quickly. These are the kind of people who will be able to ease your pain in this area of your business.

But you will also want to look at the quality they are giving you. It is all well and good to have a good relationship with your manufacturer. But if the quality is not there, this relationship is not one that is worth pursuing. You need to find a manufacturer that can offer you the best of both worlds.

We find that it is best for people to come and visit the manufacturer, either once they have placed their first order, or before they place it. This helps them to gain this relationship, and gain the trust between both people.

Trust is one of the most important aspects when choosing a manufacturer. This is what will help to ease the pain for your business. This is what everyone wants so this is what everyone should be looking out for.

One of the most important skills you need to become a successful laser engraver is patience. It can take a long amount of time to complete projects and to learn the skill. So, you need to be extremely patient to be able to deal with the small mistakes that can be made, as well as the time it takes to complete each project.

Another skill that you need is computer knowledge. A laser engraving machine works by using a computer, with you needing to program the design so the machine knows what to do. Therefore you need to have a good computer knowledge to know how to program your laser engraving machine.

You will also want the skill of being able to remain calm and open to learning. When you are first starting out, you will need to be able to remain calm and be open to learning. Mistakes will be made when you are learning a new skill. Reaming calm is a must as more mistakes are likely to be made when you become frustrated, resulting in a higher waste of materials.

So, if you want to become a successful laser engraver you do need a skill set. Whilst most of the project relies on the laser engraving machine itself. You still need the skills to be able to work it and enable it to complete its job effectively.

This is because the way people are personalising products is changing. It is no longer all about laser engraving, as there is a much cheaper, more affordable way to offer this service.

The only issue with this is that only certain materials can be personalised. So whilst the opportunities are endless, there is a limited amount you can do. This is an amazing progression in the personalisation world, but we should not forget laser engraving and how this is much longer-lasting.

Using a new tool can be a daunting process, so we are going to share with you a few simple tips for using this tool for the first time.

Firstly, you will need to ensure that the linetype for the image you wish to use is set to engrave. This means your Cricut maker will know that you wish to engrave rather than cutting through the material.

It works the same as any other tool, that you choose your design, choose your linetype and go! But with this tool, we will always recommend that you have a practice run on a piece of scrap. It can take time to perfect the use of this tool and we would hate for you to ruin the main piece.
